A Mastic man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly stabbing another man outside of a Farmingville deli, Suffolk County police said.

Christian Evans, 24, became involved in a dispute with another man inside Mooney Pond Deli, police said in a news release. Around 9:05 a.m., Evans, left the deli and stabbed the other man with a boxcutter, police said.

Evans fled the scene but was arrested shortly after at a nearby 7-Eleven.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was transported by a stranger to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Evans was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
