Chocolate mix sold at Uncle Giuseppe's recalled due to undeclared products

A chocolate-covered nut and raisin mix sold at Uncle Giuseppe’s supermarkets has been recalled due to undeclared ingredients, the FDA said on its website.

We R Nuts in Port Washington recalled 254 containers of 11-ounce containers of Milk Chocolate Bridge Mix, because they may contain milk, soy and cashews.

"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, soy and cashews run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the FDA website said.

Customers with allergies who purchased the bridge mix should throw it away and return the packaging to the store they purchased it at for a full refund.

The recall was initiated after an FDA inspection of the facility’s products found a discrepancy in the label’s ingredient list.

Milk Chocolate Bridge Mix was distributed in New York and New Jersey though Uncle Giuseppe's retail stores and is packaged in clear, rectangular, tamper-resistant plastic containers.

The recalled products have expiration dates that range from Sept. 4 to Nov. 6.

The FDA said no injuries or illnesses had been reported by the recall to date.
