Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, site of the U.S. Open Championship this week, is located on the South Shore of Long Island, about 85 miles east of New York City. 

HOW TO GET THERE

BY TRAIN

Long Island Rail Road service is available in both directions on the Montauk Branch. A trip from Penn Station to Shinnecock Hills G.C. will take approximately two hours. Go to mta.info/lirr for schedules and fares. A temporary LIRR platform has been constructed near the main entrance of the golf course. After exiting the train, fans proceed through security screening prior to crossing a pedestrian bridge over Montauk Highway to the course. Provisions for limited mobility patrons will be in place.

BY CAR

There is no general parking at the golf course. Fans driving from points east of Shinnecock Hills should park at the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton. Parking and shuttle service to/from the course to Admission Gate 8 adjacent to the 12th hole is complimentary.

From points west of the course, fans can park in the Blue Lot at Calverton Airfield in Riverhead, with free shuttle service to and from that location. Shuttle drop-off and pick-up is at Admission Gate 1.

All parking lots have handicap spaces. Fans requiring lift-equipped transportation and mobility services should contact the USGA Championship Office at 2026usopen@usga.org.

BY AIR

BLADE helicopter service operates Thursday-Sunday with free shuttles to and from the Shinnecock Nation landing zone to the course. Flights from New York City, Westchester, New Jersey, East Hampton and Montauk Airports. Details at blade.com/usopen2026.

BY FERRY

Fans traveling from northern regions (Connecticut, Rhode Island) can use ferry services to Long Island and proceed to the Blue Lot at Calverton Airfield for parking and shuttle service.

BY BUS

Hampton Jitney provides service from points east and west of the course. Go to reservations.hamptonjitney.com.

VIA CAR SERVICE

From points east, passenger drop-off will only be allowed at the designated area located at Stony Brook Southampton, a 10-minute walk to Gate 2. Vehicles must enter the drop-off area via Old Montauk Highway. There is no parking or staging for vehicles. Access limited to vehicles no larger than a 15-passenger van or limousine. Ride share vehicles are not permitted to pick up or drop off at any other location around the course. From points west, fans should go to the Blue Lot at Calverton Airfield and use the shuttle service. Fans can also take ride share to a LIRR station on the Montauk Branch, then take the train to the course.

BY BICYCLE

Bicyclists should follow signage to the general parking lots and use the shuttle service to and from the course, or proceed to the Ride Share location at the Stony Brook Southampton Campus. Bike racks will be provided.

I NEED TICKETS

Various tickets and packages are still be available for practice rounds and championship rounds. SeatGeek is the primary ticketing partner for the USGA. Go to usga.org for ticket information or try your favorite ticket broker. Tickets should be purchased online in advance.

WHAT ABOUT JUNIOR TICKETS?

Juniors (12 and under) can request complimentary Gallery access tickets when accompanied by an adult ticket or credential holder, available on site at Will Call. Maximum of four Junior tickets per one adult. Juniors (13-17) can request a complimentary Gallery ticket at the Ticket Office for practice rounds with a ticketed or credentialed adult, and for championship rounds they can purchase a discounted Junior Gallery ticket ($50) at the Ticket Office with a ticketed or credentialed adult.

CAN I BRING A MOBILE DEVICE?

Fans may carry mobile devices smaller than 7 inches in length and/or height including cellphones and smartphones. Must be in silent/vibrate mode at all times. No flash photography. Phone calls can be made or received only in designated “Fan Zones.” Texting and email is permissible. Photography, audio and video recording (but no live streaming) permitted Monday through Wednesday only, as well as in Fan Zones throughout the week. Live streaming or shot-by-shot coverage of any player is not permitted.

CAN I WALK THE COURSE?

Yes. Fans are required to stay behind gallery ropes, and cross fairways only at designated crosswalk areas. There is substantial walking on grassy hills, dirt paths and other uneven surfaces. Wear proper footwear. Sunscreen in bottles and tubes, 3 ounces or less, is permitted. Spray bottles and/or aerosol cans are not permitted. Take precautions against ticks.

CAN I GET AUTOGRAPHS?

Autographs may only be obtained at designated autograph areas or at the completion of the player’s round. On-course autographs are not permitted.

IS THERE WI-FI?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in Fan Central, to the right of the 17th green and left of the 12th hole, and also in grandstands.

WEATHER ALERTS

Various alerts will appear on leaderboards and video boards. An ORANGE alert means dangerous weather approaching. A RED alert warns of an imminent threat and fans should seek shelter. A suspension of play for dangerous conditions will be indicated by one prolonged air-horn blast.

MERCHANDISE PAVILION

It’s located in Fan Central. Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A ticket or credential to gain entry is required.

BANNED ITEMS

Weapons (regardless of permit); explosives and fireworks; tablets and computers (cellular mobile devices smaller than 7-inches permitted, subject to mobile device policy); drones; selfie sticks; cameras; video recorders; noise-producing devices (including portable speakers); backpacks, briefcases, purses and bags larger than 6x6x6-inches (transparent/clear plastic hand and shoulder bags no larger than 12x12x6-inches are permitted); signs, posters, banners; food and beverages (except for medical or infant needs); containers, coolers, aerosol cans and /or spray bottles (note: personal-care items 3.4 ounces or less and transparent/clear empty plastic water bottles 32 ounces or less are permitted); pets other than service animals; lawn chairs, oversized chairs with arms (compact chairs without arms are permitted); ladders, step stools; bicycles, Segways or scooters; any item deemed unlawful, dangerous or disruptive by the USGA and or security personnel.
