PSAL football Week 4 roundup: Lorenzo Lopez lifts Bryant past Springfield Gardens in double overtime in Conference 2A

Lorenzo Lopez ran behind blocks from Jason Feaster and Houssine Altbouja for the go-ahead 20-yard touchdown in double overtime to lead William C. Bryant to a 6-0 victory over Springfield Gardens in PSAL 2A.

Bryant (3-0) then forced back-to-back incompletions to seal the win in double overtime. Altbouja had 14 tackles, Feaster added 10 and Edwin Abreu had seven. Lopez finished with 64 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and added eight tackles. Springfield Gardens falls to 1-2.

Conference 3A

Stuyvesant 22, Madison 12: Dennis Martin returned an interception for a game-sealing touchdown to lead Stuyvesant (3-0). Tyvuan Matthews had two receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown, and Isaac Sprung rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown. Tobias Milord had four catches for 81 yards and a touchdown for Madison (1-2).

Bayside 29, FDR 8: Ravaughn Blackwood rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns and returned an interception for a score to lead Bayside (1-2). Amari Williams returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. Jhayden Hopwood had two tackles and a fumble recovery. FDR fell to 1-2.

New Utrecht 34, Midwood 6: Joseph Cangelosi threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns to lead New Utrecht (3-0). Jeremiah Harvey totaled 119 yards and three touchdowns on eight touches. Jacob Pierre Louis had a 67-yard touchdown reception, and Isaiah Flores-Schloemer added a 72-yard touchdown catch. Hang Yu Li had 11 tackles. Midwood fell to 1-2.

Franklin K. Lane 32, Newtown 0: Devontae Francis had a 60-yard touchdown reception to lead Franklin K. Lane (3-0). Mason Coreano had an interception. Xavier Payne threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a score. Davon Cox added a rushing touchdown and a fumble recovery. Newtown fell to 0-3.

Sheepshead Bay 34, Truman 0: Jayden Browne completed 8 of 14 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns to lead Sheepshead Bay (1-2). Anthony Milan had touchdown receptions of 87 and 53 yards. Michael Howard forced and recovered a fumble and caught a 30-yard touchdown pass. Emmanuel Boyce rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. Truman fell to 1-2.

Randolph 30, John Jay 20: Emmanuel Opoku rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead Randolph (3-0). Jahson Joseph rushed for 152 yards. Yadriel De Los Santos and Zahaire Jones each had nine tackles, and Isaiah Fernandez returned an interception for a touchdown. John Jay fell to 1-2.

Eagle Academy III (Queens) 55, Cardozo 0: Sophomore quarterback Jayden Stephens threw five touchdown passes to lead Eagle III (Queens) (3-0). Josiah Rushing had three interceptions and two touchdown receptions. Jameer Johnson, Jason Williams and Geovanni Richardson each rushed for a touchdown. Darnell Rink, Khasir Wright and Daryus Muhammad each caught a touchdown pass. Cardozo is 0-3.

Conference 2A

East Harlem Pride 14, Jamaica 6: Saraji Paige rushed for 71 yards and scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to lead a comeback victory for East Harlem Pride (2-1). Adrian Delacruz had seven tackles, including three for loss. Rick Rodriguez recovered two fumbles. Jamaica fell to 0-3.

McKee/Staten Island Tech 22, Boys and Girls 6: Dominick Perez rushed for touchdowns of 15 and 31 yards to lead McKee/Staten Island Tech (3-0). Sam Tarlo connected with Alex Boyee for a 19-yard touchdown pass. Junior Pena added a two-point conversion run and Colton Pruitt made both of his extra-point attempts. Boys and Girls fell to 0-3.

Transit Tech 22, Beach Channel 0: Elijah Raymond had five tackles, a fumble recovery and a touchdown to lead Transit Tech (3-0). Daniel Hall and Corey Williams each rushed for a touchdown. Chase Parker had a sack and forced a safety. Beach Channel fell to 2-1.

Conference 1A

Petrides 40, Alfred E. Smith 0: Kaden Mangual rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns to lead Petrides (3-1). Darien Niles and Jason Dennis each caught a touchdown pass from Travis Ortega.

Lafayette 36, A-Tech 12: Logan Rodriguez rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lafayette (2-2). Harventchy Noel caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Emanuel De Leon Encarnacion. Jayvon Wilson returned an interception for a touchdown. Bairon Martinez had four tackles. A-Tech fell to 1-3.
