High school playoff roundup: Baseball, flag football and boys tennis

Brock Conway drove in Nick Paluzzi in the seventh with a walk-off single to lead No. 7 Seaford over No. 2 Wantagh, 5-4, in Game 2 of a Nassau Class A quarterfinal on Monday. Conway went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Paluzzi had two hits. Joe Rotondaro had two RBIs for Seaford (10-12). Wantagh (16-5-1) will host a deciding Game 3 at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Wheatley 3, Floral Park 2: Casey Quinn struck out 13 in a complete game, allowing four hits and two walks, to lead No. 3 Wheatley past No. 6 Floral Park in Game 2 of a Nassau Class A quarterfinal. Asher Hirsch and Humphrey Li each had a hit and an RBI. Wheatley (15-7) will face either No. 2 Wantagh or No. 7 Seaford in the semifinals on Friday. Floral Park finishes 11-11.
Garden City 5, Calhoun 3: Jack Murphy threw out the potential game-winning run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, where No. 1 Garden City held off No. 8 Calhoun in the Nassau Class AA double-elimination playoffs. Murphy went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Joe Carey struck out nine over eight innings, allowing two earned runs. Garden City (20-3) will host Game 1 of the semifinals against No. 9 Mepham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun finished 13-7.
Oceanside 4, Farmingdale 3: Richie Conte scored on an error to force extra innings before Jack Albenda’s ground-rule double in the ninth inning helped set up a three-run inning in No. 7 Oceanside’s win over No. 2 Farmingdale in Game 2 of a Nassau Class AAA quarterfinal. Albenda went 2-for-2. Jake Ganulin allowed eight hits and three runs over eight innings for Oceanside (5-14-2). Lorenzo Cimino allowed one hit and an unearned run across seven innings while striking out eight for Farmingdale (15-6-1). Farmingdale will host Game 3 of the series at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
FLAG FOOTBALL
Sachem East 20, Patchogue-Medford 6: Sofia Larrea completed 27 of 33 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns in No. 2 Sachem East’s win over No. 7 Patchogue-Medford in the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Kacey Berger had 83 yards and a score, three flag pulls and two sacks. Aubree Ellis caught nine passes for 66 yards and two scores. Sachem East (14-2) will host No. 6 Northport at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the semifinals. Patchogue-Medford finished 6-7.
BOYS TENNIS
Wheatley 4, Cold Spring Harbor 1: Julian Ostrow and Chase Yoon defeated Ethan Light and Luke Pultz, 6-4, 6-3, at first doubles to clinch the Nassau D-II championship for Wheatley. Cold Spring Harbor’s Sebastian Mayer and Dev Gandhi beat Noah Gee and Michael Yoon, 5-7, 6-2, 10-8, at second doubles.
